I was selected as one of 25 scientists worldwide to join a 24-day Antarctic research expedition this February, led by Sea Women Expeditions, in affiliation with the Antarctic tourism and research community through IAATO.
This expedition will expand my expertise in primary field research and directly advance Ann’s Backyard Forest’s Making Science Accessible™ mission, ensuring that polar research is translated into practical, place-based investigation and learning for local forests, classrooms, and communities. The science conducted in Antarctica will be returned home as education, stewardship, and action.
Funds raised through Ann’s Backyard Forest will be used to match the in-kind and logistical support provided by the organization running the mission, helping cover participation costs and extend the educational reach of this work.
How to support:
1. Make a tax-deductible donation to Ann's Backyard Forest using the donation button at the top of the page.
2. Support the expedition through a raffle for an original, signed, framed artwork inspired by Antarctic fieldwork (tickets $30) using the raffle button at the top of the page.
Thank you!
